Danielle is currently acting as legal counsel to the Specific Claims Tribunal through Interchange Canada (October 2016-October 2017).
Danielle practiced in Ontario at a boutique Aboriginal law firm before joining Ratcliff & Company LLP in 2013. Danielle represents First Nations and Indigenous organizations, primarily in the areas of specific claims (redressing historical grievances against the Crown), Aboriginal rights and title, consultation and accommodation/natural resource law, Treaty negotiations, administrative law, governance, reserve land management and in negotiations with all levels of government on various matters.
During her time at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, Danielle was Chair (2010) and Co-Chair (2009) of the Aboriginal Law Students’ Association (ALSA) where the logo she created for the ALSA is still used to this day. She also acted as Senior Editor Board Member of the Indigenous Law Journal (2009). She received theJamieson Scholarship (2009/2010) in recognition of academic achievement, leadership qualities and contributions to the Aboriginal and academic community; and the June Callwood Program in Aboriginal Law (2008) operated by Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC).
Danielle is Cree and Ukrainian and a member of the Bear Clan from Misipawistik Cree Nation (Grand Rapids) in Manitoba. Danielle enjoys spending her free time hiking the trails of North Vancouver, travelling and watching sports.
