Squamish First Nation outlines five major conditions for Woodfibre LNG plant
The Squamish Nation has announced five major conditions and 20 other conditions that must be satisfied if it is to approve the proposed Woodfibre LNG plant.
“Call them the Top Five,” says Ratcliff lawyer and Squamish Nation legal counsel Aaron Bruce. “Bottom line here is that the Squamish Nation will simply not approve the WFLNG proposal unless all of these conditions are addressed and resolved — to the Squamish Nation’s satisfaction.”
To enforce compliance, SN will require the project proponents to enter into a legally binding agreement regarding the conditions, called an Environmental Certificate.
